Color of the body provides excellent camouflage in the water. Dorsal (back) side of tuna's body is dark blue and it blends with the ocean floor when observed from the air.
Belly of tuna is silver-white and it blends with the surface of the ocean when observed from bellow.
Despite their large size, tunas are very fast swimmers. They can reach the speed between 44 and 62 miles per hour.
Tuna is able to change the position of its dorsal and pectoral fins to reduce drag and accelerate the swimming speed.
Tuna can swim near the surface or can dive to the depth of 3000 feet while it searches for food.
Not all experts agree, but at top speeds of nearly 70 mph, the sailfish is widely considered the fastest fish in the ocean.

The female deposits fertilized eggs into the male’s pouch, where they gestate safely.
Males seen expelling the hatchlings from their pouch gave rise to the old wives tale that males were the ones giving birth.
Their eyes work independently of one another. They can even keep one eye looking behind them, quite handy for keeping a lookout for predators or other dangers.

You can tell how old a goldfish is by it’s scales.
A tree and a goldfish don’t seem to have a whole lot in common.

For every year of a goldie’s life the fish develops a ring on its scales! Those rings are called circuli.
Just count the number of rings (like you would on a tree stump) to determine the fish’s age.
Here’s the catch:
You’d need a microscope to see them.
Goldfish actually see more colors than humans.
Your eyes can only see combinations of three primary colors – red, yellow and blue.
Not a goldfish’s eyes!
They can see FOUR different ones…
